(MIGRATION ONLY APPLY FOR EXISTING USER ON ANDROID 11 AND HIGHER)
Please note: There are some guides attached to this page to give additional help.
In some cases, it is faster to fix up some things manually
To reset migration if it didn't prompt on first instance, go to Menu > Settings > Storage Options - Reset Migration
STEP 1: Press “CONTINUE” button.
STEP 2 : Press “MIGRATE” button. (This will take you to Android File Browser)
STEP 3 : Find “bcnav” folder on internal storage.
STEP 4 : Select “bcnav” folder and Press “USE THIS FOLDER” . (Note! “USE THIS FOLDER” word could be different from other Android version).
STEP 5 : Press “ALLOW” button to grant us permission to access the bcnav folder for migration.
After the permission granted migration will start on BCNPro app. There will be two parts in migration the first part will be on Dialogbox and other part will start on background (Notification) once the first part is done. A notification will appear once the migration completed.
NOTE! Please do not kill the app or remove it from the recent apps.

I'm not finding the bcnav folder anywhere. I have searched everything in my files.
"My Files" the app will not see it. See the guide above about Browsing BCN App Folder
the migration did not copy any files at all, even not when selecting "replace files"
needed to copy all files from disk (SD card) to internal storage. Then migration worked without moving / copying any file. Had to select my maps and mapstyle manually in place. Now it works.
I just logged into Backcountry app for the first time in 4-5 months. Just went through the migration process as directed here and everything went smoothly.
Problem is all of my waypoints and tracks are gone instead there is a "mine ruins" waypoint I am not familiar with.
How do I retrieve my waypoints?
Hi @Timothy,
I responded on your ticket.
Thanks,
Dan
Any suggestions to get the backup feature to authenticate with Google Drive and/or Dropbox on my Pixel 6 Pro. Once I sign in to either, it times out and won't complete the action. "This site can't be reached
www.cloudrailauth.com's server IP address could not be found.
Try:
Checking the connection
ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED"
(p.s. Migration has been completed)
Hi @MyPrivateGeek
We are still working on a new solution to this one (we can only suggest manual backups as of the moment) because Google decided to discontinue the API we originally used for the cloud backup.
Thanks,
Dan
Why is this so useless?
This “guide” doesn't even tell you how to get to the screen it starts with.
God forbid anybody ever get a new phone, because transferring all your data will be convoluted and unexplainable.
Why do I have to go through this every time I get a new phone?
Hi Solomon,
Apologies as this was very old (updating the migration reset part on the article).
We have to go through this because Google/Android updates how apps can access Data on every new iteration of the OS, It's something we need to do for the app to be able to access your device's storage.
To reset migration if it didn't prompt on first instance, go to Menu > Settings > Storage Options - Reset Migration
Thank you.
Dan
