If you have experienced failures in downloading an order, there are a few common causes.
If you have completed an order, but don't see the app on your phone.
If you have completed an order, but the app is no longer installed.
Usually, an order that is completed will also get downloaded and installed, but occasionally, that is not the case. Look under my Apps on the Android Market. This is usually on the front page of the Market, but sometimes in the menu.
You may see the app as 'Purchased' in the Android Market 'My Apps' section. Look for BackCountry Navigator Pro, with a golden padlock symbol.
If so, follow the screens through and make sure it is installed.
If you see the app as purchased, but it won't download or install.
When there is an authorization failure, you often have a download which seems to hang. The item still shows up a purchased. Why? I don't know. Some knucklehead at Google thinks that's user friendly.
Meanwhile, in the Google Checkout console.
15 9:00 PM | Authorization failed | The authorization of the customer's credit card failed. Google has sent an email instructing the customer to update their card. If they fail to provide a valid card within 7 days, this order will be automatically cancelled by Google. |
Apr 15 9:00 PM | Order received | You received a new order. Google has sent the customer an order confirmation email. |
Instead of telling you right on your phone that the purchase has failed, Google sends an email to your gmail account, which you may not even check, to tell you to update your card.
So if your download isn't working, check your gmail account for a message, and go to checkout.google.com.
If this doesn't help, please see Android Market Help, and post a message there for Google if necessary.
