Huawei boycot (?)
A friend tried to install BCN-Pro on her Huawei P30 Lite New Edition (2020), using the Google Playstore, but didn't succeed. I fear she may have fallen victim to the US boycot of Huawei (?).
Anyway, in Huawei's own AppGalery BCN-Pro ís available, but it's called "Backcountry Navigateur" and the accompanying text is in French. Is there indeed something like a 'French language version' or is this the same (English) version as on Google's Playstore?

I use the older Huawei P10. I have always been able to install BCN successfully.
However, the Huawei operating system seems to have power saving features that kill processes that aren't accessed regularly. This article has some info. Modifying the settings did not work for me. Uninstalling powergenie did for a while.
Currently, my phone will record a track for a few hours before the recording process is killed. While BCN still works - I can view the maps and record a waypoint - it quits accumulating track information.
I can't find any solution for this, and will likely buy a new phone.
Users of GPS apps should avoid Huawei phones.
