Can't Import Waypoints

I have a KMZ file that was generated by Google MyMaps that contains nothing but waypoints in it. I am trying to import and display these waypoints in BCN. I created a new trip database but when I press the Import button NOTHING discernible happens. No notification of completed import and nothing shown on the map.

Is this a BUG or am I missing something?
