I think I found the answer already. I forgot about installing the Bluetooth GPS Provider app as well. Apparently this app handles all the work to get BCNav Pro to work with the external device. Still have not tried it yet though. If I am wrong please reply, thank you...

    Hi Rod,

You can set the device to use the external GPS - usually when you connect it via bluetooth, I believe most devices will default to that external GPS receiver.

    Have you tried it?

    Did it work?

    thanks,

Hello Dan, yes I had it working for a short while. After messing with the setup I was running out of power so I turned it off and plugged it up for about an hour or so. Went outside to do my test and sure enough I could NOT get it to connect again. Something isn't quite right with the setup I guess, or devices that just don't like working together. I think I might have erased GPS data when I shouldn't have, but now it wont lock on any sats. And from what I gather it could take a day for the data to re-download?

I am going back to the internal GPS as that at least works without issue other than eating my battery very fast. Think I will sell the Puck and invest in a BIG battery backup for the tablet instead.

However, I read something today that peaked my interest, that you can actually improve the accuracy of any device by using software to correct the inaccuracies? I didn't bookmark what I saw because I was in a hurry to test another local Track record to see if the Puck (external gps) did in fact improve the accuracy or not. But now I need to try and find that information of improving the accuracy. I just don't like seeing Track Records having me walking through trees or jumping off cliffs when I clearly did not do those things. Lol, thanks again Dan.

    > GPS Data within the app? (from Menu > Settings - GPS Options?) I dont think it takes that long.

    > I'm guessing something with the setup between your device and the puck is not properly configured. The app is set to use whatever the "default" GPS hardware you set your device to. I dont think it has permissions to go beyond that.

    > This is something I'm not entirely familiar as for GPS fixes, Im more inclined that it's hardware-dependent.If you can find that link, please share with me and I will take a look as well. thanks again!

    Thanks,
