Searching for a location

To search for some location, BCN uses 'Google location services'. But this has serious drawbacks:
1. Google doesn't know all the names that appear on the maps I use (mainly from Openandromaps). This is particularly true for areas where I appreciate BCN and my maps most: nature reserves and such. Lots of helpful names for walkers and hikers on the map there which Google can't find.
2. It's not for nothing BCN explicitly asks me for permission to search Google. Many people (like me) hate to let Google know what I'm looking for.

I wouldn't call these points drawbacks if there was no alternative. But there IS: the Openstreetmaps project runs a service (OSM Nominatim I think it's called) which contains ALL the names on OSM maps and will not share your searches with 3rd parties.
I'm now looking at other apps (like Cartograph) which do use this service, but I'd much prefer to stick with my first love: BCN.
