(1) Detect motor travel based on velocity, either via fixed threshold or adaptive. Note point in track where the shift occurs. (could ensure that several data points are above threshold velocity first)
(2) Popup to user: "Velocity exceeded threshold. End track recording at threshold crossing?" (or something more generally readable) with options: "yes","no","turn off","always"
