Track recording interruptions
Have been trying to get some email support on the topic of interrupted track recordings, but it is not going well so I am going to try here before adjusting my rating on the Play Store :-)
As of July or so I have noticed BCNAV repeatedly dropping track recording for no apparent reason. I will start a track recording, things will progress smoothly. Then I will put my phone in my pocket and when I pull it out 10 minutes later a track is no longer recording, without any record that a recording was ever started. The icon in the notification bar also changes from "Track recording in progress" to "Navigating in progress". However, the app still thinks it is recording since the "My location" menu still has a "Stop track recording" button. There were no sky visibility issues or narrow canyons. When I first noticed this in July I was at the top of Mt Washington in Nevada. The more recent experience is in wide open areas in Sedona.
When I came back I ran some more tests on the freeways of San Diego with the same results. Within 15 minutes of starting track recording something happens and the recording stops. The error occurs under all conditions tested - device fully connected to internet, device connected to internet but the internet option within BCNAV disabled, or device in airplane mode. The recording is in the middle of San Diego, with unobstructed views of the sky. The phone is in a cradle in my car, connected to a charger.
BCNAV is excluded from power optimizations and the "Keep GPS ON" option is checked in settings. I am not running any third party battery optimizers. I have had the phone (OnePlus 5 running 8.1) for 18 months now, and this behavior is new. Turned on somewhere between December 2017 and July 2018.
Needless to say this is irritating at best and dangerous at worst, because I can potentially loose my "breadcrumbs" when navigating off trail.

The radio silence from the developer continues. At this point I have tried d wiping data, fully deleting the bcnav folder, wiping cache, various stages of removal from battery optimization, uninstall reinstall. Problem continues, Gaia works flawlessly. I am abandoning BCNAV in favor of Gaia. The error cripples the app functionality.
