I recently had occasion to try to locate old property survey markers in difficult ground and wished for WAAS instead of the phone gps. 

Use with an external gps via usb to get waas accuracy with BackCountry Navigator.   Use with a tablet or NOOK would be very handy.

  This can be done. I don't recommend a USB GPS. Go for bluetooth GPS. Install an app like Bluetooth GPS Provider, and it will act like it is the internal GPS.
