This is a question that comes up periodically.
At present, it is not practical to download an entire state at once. Not only would it take forever, your storage card would be full long before you finished.
The reason: current map sources would probably take up to 30 Gigabytes for the state of Washington.
We'd like to develop some maps where they will fit into about 5 gigabytes. It is taking a lot of research and effort on our part.
These may be available as a one file download or on DVD.
Who likes this idea?
(Note: someone may ask: can this be done for aerial photography? No. It is highly unlikely that a state worth of high res aerial photography will fit on a storage card in this decade.)
