[Support] area calculation
CompletedMy coworkers and I use this app for many wildland fire situations like
navigation and perimeter mapping. A way to use the track log to calculate
area would be awesome and hugely helpful.
Thank you.

Just for my benefit, what units are you expecting? Hectares? Acres? Square feet? Square yards? Square miles? Square meters?

I am also a wildland firefighter who just downloaded the app. It seems the only thing it is missing is the area calculation function, which is critical for a gps in this line of work. I would have to carry my other gps just for that purpose. The standard unit of measure would be acres. Please add this functionality, thanks -

I'm marking it done.
Choose the [+} button and then "Measure and Create Routes.

When I choose the {+} button to measure and create routes, it wants me to tap the screen to enter the points - is there a way to measure area by using the track log rather than tapping the points on the screen? A regular GPS has a function that will calculate area using the track log. On the regular GPS, you press a start button, walk around the perimeter of the fire (for instance) then a stop button, which closes the traverse. The gps then gives you the acreage and lets you save that track, which is helpful once you get into the office and need to make a map of the fire. Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I only see the option of tapping the screen to measure area - I tried to use this method by making a track, then tapping the screen along the track. It worked okay, but my fingertip isn't precise enough to follow the track very well. Also, the units are showing in square miles - is there a way to change that to acres? Thanks -

I too often map fires with this app, and would love to be able to derive an acreage from the track. It looks as if the measure and create routes option has been removed (or moved - I'm not finding it)... Any chance this could be implemented?
