Fo app to show 4 yellow rings around the gps location (blue dot).
I think if you had this feature you could market even stronger to the off road community/
As it is, I know a lot of people use your app for off road gps
navigation. But I can tell you, when I'm cruising across the desert at
60+ mph, it would be nice for myself or my navigator to be able to tell
a rough distance to the next turn or obstacle or hazard, etc.

Well then, try it out in today's release.
You'll have to look for it in GPS Options in settings.

Another case/advantage would be marketing wise, no one currently makes an Android app with this capability for off road/back country use. There are numerous IOS apps, but none currently for Android.

100% agree. This app absolutely needs range rings. Without it, it makes using this app while offroading at higher speeds, dangerous. In offroading we rely on knowing where the next turn, obsitcle, dangers are ahead of time to be able to react in a timely manner.

We get requests for this kind of software all of the time. As previously stated, there really is no software that is available to the Android market currently that is as robust as the IPhone software. I know the Nexus 2012 and Nexus 2013 are popular tablets used for off road GPS navigation.

I've been wanting something like this for my rail!!! I have a Lowrance but would like to put something cheaper and more mobile/removable for the co-driver. I've used Backcountry Navigator in the past, but shy'd away from it because it was missing the distance rings mentioned above. This would be AWESOME!!!

It would be nice if you could change the distance of each ring to suit your needs!

AWESOME!!! This looks great. So far I've only looked on my phone, but this looks like it should be a great addition out in the Desert. I will upload it to my Tablet and report back as soon as I get some real world testing done, which unfortunately may be a couple months out. Our next Desert trip is planned for August.

It would also be nice if there was an audible alarm when you come within the set distance from a marked waypoint.

Interesting how I came on board this forum after finding BCN right as this FR was marked "Completed." I like the responsiveness of this developer!
So, now we have range rings, BUT, and this is the BIG however... the rest of the request to have custom, adjustable ranges (1 mile max is WAY too close for aviation using the Sectional charts map), line colors (plural, as in each ring being a different color), and width still needs to be added. Hopefully these will appear as fast as the rings themselves appeared (one day) after I commented and agreed with this FR... hehe.0
